If you want more gems for free, I now of a way. It takes time but you don't have to spend a dime. When you click on your stove, your selection of food pops up. If you look below the picture you will see a bar gauge and a number. What that means is it shows the use of that item, when you fill the bar up by many use of that item, the bar will change number, when you hit up too 4times you will receive an emerald. It's just a matter of saving.
