One easy way to get free gems is when you get a pop-up to download another game, download it. Install the game and it will ask if you accept the gems that will be distributed to your game, click accept. It may take a few minutes for your gems to show up but they do! Once you get the gems you can delete the game if you don't want to play it. You can ONLY do this if you click on a pop-up. Hope this helps :)
